What size companies do you work with?

We’ve taken on companies of all sizes, ranging from $50K in value to $50M and up, but have the most buyer demand for companies that are $1M in value or larger.

What financials do you need to complete the free valuation?

We can complete a valuation with just one year of financial data. However, providing more information helps create a more accurate and comprehensive assessment. Ideally, you can share your Profit & Loss (P&L) statement for the trailing 12 months or the most recent full year. If those aren't available, we can also work with your tax returns.

How do you get to your valuation?

At Baton, we use a combination of proven methods to determine the value of your business, including cash flow multiples, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and sales comparisons. We also incorporate information and insights from your answers during the sign-up process. This personalized assessment helps us highlight your business’s strengths, reflecting both its current performance and future potential for a well-rounded valuation.

What is your fee structure?

Your business’s valuation and the 1:1 meeting with our team to review results are always free, it’s part of our mission! You then have the ability to host an anonymous listing free of charge to gauge buyer interest.

On our seller plan, we charge $1,000 per month with a minimum contract of 3 months. We then take a 6% fee on the first $5M and 2% beyond that. Our current average time to close is 5.5 months with a 68% close rate. If we don't close after 3 months you can continue on a month-to-month at no extra cost. We collect $0 from the monthly fee you pay, therefore it's not refundable.

What happens to my retainer if you don't sell?

Our current time to close is 5.5 months with nearly a 68% close rate. If we don’t close within the minimum commitment period, you can continue on a month-to-month basis for the same monthly fee. We make our success fee only when we sell your business, which is why we are so committed to doing so! The monthly retainers are designed to cover the costs of marketing, outreach, and buyer engagement to maximize your chances of a successful sale. They are not refundable, but they ensure we can invest the necessary resources into selling your business effectively.

What if I sign on with Baton and a buyer I am already speaking with becomes more serious and is eager to purchase my business?

No problem! We can put a clause in the contract that if your buyer submits an LOI within 60 days, we'll lower our commission to 3% from 6%. To date, no sellers have never brought us a buyer that closed. But we have leveraged owner-fed buyer leads against our own, increasing the final offer amount.
